Why the Hertie Foundation supports the Ehrentag<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Volunteers take on responsibility, contribute different perspectives and show that democracy thrives above all on cooperation. Especially in times of social tension, they are true bridge builders: they create spaces for dialogue, strengthen solidarity and encourage people to get involved. This is how democracy stays alive \u2013 through people who take action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteering brings together people from all walks of life, with different experiences, backgrounds, and life situations. They spend time together, get to know each other, and pursue a common goal. Such productive encounters strengthen the sense of personal effectiveness and promote a deeper understanding of one another. This creates moments that reveal how much potential and social strength we all have within us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why we are delighted to support the Ehrentag established by Federal President Steinmeier \u2013 among other things through the Business Council for Democracy<\/strong>. It places a special focus on how companies can promote volunteer work among their employees and encourage them to get involved.
